Six Big Things to Know on the Eve of the Pisces Full Moon

Each day now, we’re moving deeper and deeper into a 33-month transformation zone. I don’t have to tell you that it’s very intense, unbelievably deep, and utterly.  That much you understand by now, as well as anyone alive.  It’s hard, though, to get a feel for this rapidly changing internal and external energy field.  The approach of tomorrow’s revelatory Full Moon in Pisces calls for a map and some landmarks.

1. What’s going on — in my life, and in our world?

Underlying the energies accelerating within us and around us are seven vibrational collisions of the solar system’s mightiest agents of awesome change — Uranus and Pluto, which began in June 2012 and won’t really let up until March 2015. (The Uranus-Pluto portal is itself a pivot point within a much larger, longer process of global and cosmic transformation happening within us and all around us — and every sage and seer on the planet is in agreement that if you’re alive now, this is why you’re here.)

Each lunation and every planetary contact that occurs during these 33 months creates the next step in this transformational journey.  With each one, something drops away and something else begins to emerge. At each turning point, we sense a little more of where we’re going, and what our next step is. Two weeks ago, as Luna and Sol made their way toward the same degree of Virgo, the ancient sign of the goddess, we turned a corner. There’s much, much more just ahead — and what happens tomorrow is just what we need to keep going.

2. There’s Going to be a Revelation at the Pisces Full Moon?

Thursday’s Full Moon in Pisces brings a moment of revelation. As Luna waxes towards perfect fullness at 9:13 a.m. EDT on Thursday, September 19, we begin to see, as never before, a Cosmos teeming with the energy of the Feminine.  Rejected, repressed, and subjugated for millennia, the Cosmic Feminine is staging the biggest comeback in history. And she’s doing it through your life and mine.  This will probably be a lot clearer tomorrow than it may be today.

3. Where’s the forward path?

The Moon’s North Node is the cosmic sign pointer.  An invisible point in the sky, the North Node carries the evolutionary energy of the Now that it carries. It’s always the way to go.  And today it’s aligned with two planets: Venus, the magnetic and alluring Cosmic Feminine, and Saturn, precisely aligned in the field of transformation we know as Scorpio.

Here’s the energetic shorthand:  Within you and around you, the Universe is linking the Feminine, wisdom and antiquity, and evolution.  That’s the way forward.  That’s the path to your best future.

Just so you know, these conjunctions of Venus, Saturn, and the North Node are a very big deal. This is only the third one since 1934.  The next will take place in April 2025.  And guess where? In the same degree the Moon will occupy when she is full tomorrow.

4. What am I supposed to be doing right now?

Saturn conjoined with Venus famously constricts the free flow of Love, especially in relationships. This can be the marker of the loveless, or at least lonely, marriage, where love is seldom expressed — but commitment is enduring.  When he links up with the North Node, however, the Manifestor pushes us to release patterns of negativity and withholding — and to allow something new to be born into our lives, and the into our world.  The Universe is asking us to do two things:

  • release our negative attitudes towards the Cosmic Feminine. That starts with us, especially if we’re women. It includes our mothers, our sisters, our daughters, our friends.  It’s also our associations with the word “feminine” and our feelings about intuition, emotion, our bodies, our dreams, our creativity — you get the picture.
  •  begin expressing our love for Her and our appreciation of Her undying commitment to us.  This includes all forms of tenderness and nurturing that we’ve experienced, from human, earthly, and cosmic sources.

Venus conjoined with the Node, on the other hand, is one of the rosiest harbingers of birth — and indeed, of the entire realm of the Feminine.   The presence of both Venus and Saturn at the Node tells us that the future is being born through the Feminine.  The seed of evolutionary energy that their conjunction creates today will unfold over the next 30 years. Your birth chart tells you where, and how (if you’re interested in a reading, just email me at starsisterastrology@gmail.com).

5. Why is this like nothing I’ve ever experienced?

The Universe is pulling out the stops on this energy.  Uranus and Pluto are dialing up pretty much everything as they prepare for their fourth square, just six weeks way.  Meanwhile, as Saturn merges his vibrations with those of Venus and the Node in Pluto’s sign of Scorpio, he’s supported in a very profound way by Pluto, who’s simultaneously traveling through Saturn’s sign of Capricorn. This presence in each other’s home territories, called “mutual reception” by astrologers, makes each planet far more potent than it would be alone.

When these two archetypal energies of power are contacting each other with a creative, collaborative sextile, as they are now, we’re looking at an almost irresistible force.  This is structural transformation — and it’s as strong as we’ll see on the planet for another 500 years (when Pluto and Saturn are once again in mutual reception).

When Pluto and Saturn come together, we shed our dead skin, and reality transforms. The energy of Pluto — and of his home sign, Scorpio — reaches far into the depths, releasing what is lifeless and recovering what retains vibrance and potency. With Saturn, the ruler of antiquity and wisdom, in the mix, we can expect to see the recovery of  realities that are ancient. When Venus at his side, the Cosmic Feminine will be at their center.

6. What’s With the Asteroid Flyby?

Tonight, the Cosmos signals us that something very big is afoot.  An asteroid will zip past the Earth, nearly halfway between our planet and the Moon. It  comes at 6:20 p.m. EDT in the U.S., almost exactly 13 hours before the Full Moon at 7:13 a.m. EDT. (Oh, and don’t forget that 13 is a number sacred to the Feminine — which is exactly why it was labeled as “unlucky” centuries ago when all forms of conscious connection with the Feminine energy were being driven underground with all violent means. The number 13 figures prominently in both the celestial cycle of Venus and in the lunar calendar. The 13th letter of the alphabet is “M,” the first letter of many words associated with the Divine Feminine — like mater, mother, Mary, and mana, for example).

The dwarf planet Ceres, the largest body in the asteroid belt, is an important energy at tomorrow's Full Moon.

Like most of the over 500,000 asteroids that orbit the Sun in a great belt between Mars and Jupiter, this one is tiny and poses no threat to Earthlings.  It’s just one of countless fragments of cosmic energy exist between the realm of “just me,” as the late, grate astrologer Boots Hart described the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, and the larger realities beyond them. Created from remnants of planets that never formed or were broken apart, these asteroids carry energy that needs to be cleared, reclaimed, or integrated as we grow beyond the “just me.”

The asteroid belt is a very rich field of “asteroid goddesses” — Cosmic Feminine energy that was driven long ago from our consciousness, beginning way, way back in the Deep Time and continuing until yesterday, or maybe even ten minutes ago.  At tomorrow’s Full Moon, many of them will be taking center stage.  (And in fact, the Sabian symbol for the degree of Virgo where the Sun will be at tomorrow’s Full Moon pretty well describes it — “aristocratic ladies meeting ceremonially at a court function.”)
